I need to get a new laptop. I guess I will get a Dell, but I am so not the geek. Anything I should get or stay away from?

Also vista came out. Get that or get XP?

Avoid Vista like the plague at this point...though from what I see in the stores, it'll be hard to get a new machine without it now.
